Introduction

As time goes by it is a nice change of pace to update your online profile photos. Most sites make this a simple process: log in, delete your current photo, upload a new photo, and save. Voilà, your profile photo is updated for your account.

Gravatar is a service that with one change on their site, can update many of your online profiles photos. The service is based on your email address and is owned by Automattic who produces WordPress.

In my opinion it is more difficult that necessary to remove old photos from a Google account. I love Gmail and it is a simple process to upload a new photo. The difficulty is when you want to remove old photos. I searched for help and most articles referenced Google Photos or Google+, neither of which I use. Eventually I found some information on Quora that contained an answer. But it took a while to search and find and answer so I wrote this blog post to document the procedure.
